Zarvanytsia
Zarvanytsia Marian Shrine

Zarvanytsia lies among the fields of Ternopil — a wooden church, a spring, a place Ukrainians have walked to for centuries with their living and their dead. The icon of the Mother of God is small and dark; the water is cold; the road is country-quiet.
A pilgrim of Palomeya comes by that road, writes the names, and stays for the liturgy or the Mass as the day allows. Palomeya is not this sanctuary. It is the one who kneels at the spring and carries your intention into the church.
