Santiago
Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela

At the end of the Camino the cathedral receives those who have walked and those who have only sent their names. The botafumeiro, when it flies, fills the nave with smoke and silver. Galicia's rain darkens the stone; the square holds the tired and the newly arrived.
A pilgrim of Palomeya attends the Mass and leaves your intention at the tomb of the apostle. Palomeya is not the cathedral chapter. It is a traveller who arrives, prays, and stands a while in the Obradoiro before going home.
