Jerusalem
Garden of Gethsemane

The garden on the Mount of Olives is older than the walls around it. Olive trunks twist toward the Church of All Nations, where the rock of the agony lies under glass and low light. Across the path, other thresholds keep the same night in different tongues.
At dusk the city falls away and the valley holds its breath. A pilgrim of Palomeya comes with a written intention, remains for the prayer, and leaves the names at a place of watching and sorrow. Palomeya is not this church. It is the person who walks the path, stays a while, and goes back down toward the Kidron.
